We're partnering with Portland Community College to offer an online education course this winter. The course is free, and students, educators and community members in Clatsop, Columbia, Tillamook and Washington counties are eligible to participate. 

The course is called ED 258 Equity and Belonging in the K12 Classroom and will focus on understanding historical inequities and considering our role as educators in creating socially just and equitable schools. Read the course description to learn more. 

The class will be held online from 6:30-7:50 p.m. on Mondays starting Jan. 6, 2025.

The instructor is Uma Joshi-Garcia, a social justice educator who is passionate about activism, ethnic studies and creating a holistic educational experience for youth, specifically students of color. Read more about Uma.
