Closure Information for Students and Families at our Social Emotional Learning Schools (Columbia Academy, Cascade Academy, Pacific Academy and Levi Anderson Learning Center)

• Weather-related closures: During weather-related events, your school will follow the delay/closure status of the Beaverton School District. You can check FlashAlert or the local news for the current status of all area school districts.

• Other school-specific emergencies: Northwest Regional ESD will send information about other closures and emergencies by SMS text and email. We will also post information to nwresd.org. Please check with your school to make sure your contact information is correct.

• Weather-related closures: 

  • Services provided at early childhood centers (BECC, HECC, TECC) or service centers: During weather-related events, you will follow the delay/closure status of the school district where your school is located. Keep in mind your transportation might also be impacted if the school district providing your transportation is delayed or closed. You can check FlashAlert or the local news for the current status of all area school districts.

  • Services provided in community preschool or child care settings: Your child’s preschool or child care will need to provide delay/closure information.

  • Services provided through home visits: If your child receives services in your home and the district in which you reside is closed, your child will not receive  services that day. If the district is on an emergency late start, these services may or may not be provided. Your service provider will be in touch with more information including options for rescheduling.

  • Evaluations: You will follow the closure status of the service center where your evaluation is scheduled. 

• Other emergencies: Northwest Regional ESD will send information about other closures and emergencies by SMS text and email. We will also post information to nwresd.org. Please check with your service provider to make sure your emergency contact information is correct.

Delay and closure information for programs and services based at the Washington Service Center, Clatsop Service Center, Columbia Service Center, Tillamook Service

• Weather-related closures: Delay and closure decisions are made in collaboration with the school districts where we are located. The county service center will typically follow the delay/closure status of the school district where it is located. By 6 a.m. the day of a weather event, all delay and closure announcements will be posted to nwresd.org, FlashAlert and in the local news.

• Other site-specific emergencies: We will post delay and closure information to nwresd.org, FlashAlert and in the local news. Staff will be notified by email.
