Our Services

Our component districts contract with NWRESD to provide speech-language professionals and expertise to support the communication needs of their students. Speech-language professionals serve as educational partners to promote language literacy, social learning and increase student engagement. All students receive high-quality, culturally and linguistically sustaining services.

As a member of an educational team, the Speech-Language Pathologist’s (SLP) goal is to facilitate the student’s communication competence, which is critical for access to an educational program in a least-restrictive environment. SLPs plan and implement speech and language programs in partnership with educational teams. SLPs support students who exhibit the full range of communication needs, including language, literacy, articulation (speech sound disorders), fluency, voice/resonance and swallowing. Under close supervision of the SLP, Speech-Language Pathologist Assistants (SLP-A) ensure that student service plans are implemented fully.
