Occupational Therapy Services

School-age occupational therapy services provide our component districts with services to meet the functional occupational therapy needs of their students. Occupational therapy services at school focus on the skills a child needs to safely access and participate in the educational environment and to make progress in their areas of specially designed instruction. Therapists consult and collaborate with the student’s educational team to develop and implement strategies that allow the student to access and participate more successfully in their educational settings throughout the school day.

Physical Therapy Services

School-age physical therapy services provide our component districts with services to address the gross motor needs of their students. Physical therapists evaluate the functional skills of students with disabilities to identify barriers that the student experiences to physically accessing and participating in their educational environment. An essential aspect of effective physical therapy services in schools is the provision of consultation and collaboration with the student’s educational team. Physical therapists and physical therapist assistants seek to teach classroom staff to implement strategies that support safe access and participation for the student in all settings throughout each school day.
