Our Services
The regional equipment center is a collection of adaptive equipment available for eligible student use and assistive technology devices available for trial/assessment. The equipment is available to students who are qualified as orthopedically, visually or hearing impaired and referred by their home district for regional inclusive services. Use of the equipment and devices must be relevant to the individual student’s age-appropriate educational goals.
Equipment center staff consult with therapists to refine and clarify the equipment needs of students. Collaboration with vendors informs a purchasing process that reflects careful and conscious stewardship of regional grant funds. Specialized staff assigned to the equipment center offer discipline-specific consultation to physical and occupational therapists to maximize the utility of the equipment.
