Anne Grey
District Coordinator with the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence
"I envision all students in Oregon receiving a holistic, equitable education that empowers them to reach their full potential. Students should have access to resources, support, and learning opportunities tailored to their unique talents, needs, backgrounds, and interests. My hope is that Oregon students grow into engaged, compassionate citizens who feel equipped to pursue their dreams and make meaningful contributions to their communities and world."
Craig Hoppes
Superintendent, Astoria School District
"I want the opportunity for all Oregon students to have meaningful educational experiences in a safe and equitable K-12 school system."
Brian De Wolf
Instructional Coach and Testing Coordinator, Gaston School District
"I would like to see a future where all students have excellent opportunities to rise to challenges and learn lifelong skill sets. In particular, I share the vision of the Oregon Math Project that sees mathematics move from a sieve that sifts out students to a pump that identifies their strengths and drives them forward to greatness."
Dan Goldman
Superintendent, Northwest Regional ESD
"I strive to catalyze educators, families, partners and youth to work collaboratively to ensure that every student gets what they need in their educational setting to feel connected, be engaged, and ultimately to achieve their full potential and enrich their communities."
Ethan Guzman
Instructional Coach, Seaside School District
"Public Education is the great equalizer in an otherwise unequal society. All students deserve a chance to thrive and reach their full potential. My vision of a successful society includes a public education system focused on equity, inclusion, and social justice for all students."
Eva Manderson
Northwest Regional Child Care Resource and Referral Program Coordinator, Northwest Regional ESD
"That all children will have caring and knowledgeable adults in their lives who make genuine connections with them and help them to thrive. This would start in early childhood settings and continues into their more formal education."
Andrea Emerson
Associate Professor, Western Oregon University
"I hope that education in the state of Oregon will be a place for students to be their whole selves, an identity affirming place."
Giselle Escobar
Associate Principal, Tigard Tualatin School District
"My vision for students in Oregon is to cultivate a learning environment that embraces diversity, providing every student with equal opportunities to thrive academically and personally. To create and maintain a system where we are committed to fostering an inclusive atmosphere that goes beyond mere tolerance, where differences are celebrated, and every student feels valued. Our dedication extends to ensuring that students farther from justice receive the best educational experiences, empowering them to overcome barriers and equipping them with the tools to contribute meaningfully to society."
Jill Nguyễn
Consultant | Community Engagement Advocate | DEIB
"Growing up as Vietnamese American, I seldom felt liked I truly belonged. It is my life’s mission to ensure I positively impact any child to feel as though they do."
J. Robin DuMouchel
Teacher, Rainier School District
"In an ideal world, the children of Oregon would have everything they need to be able to learn in a classroom, enough mental health support, enough teachers, enough pencils."
Osvaldo Garcia-Contreras
District Coordinator Equity/ELD/Migrant Ed, Forest Grove School District
"Anchored in a safe and supportive school community, students will acquire the necessary academic and social skills that will allow them to both be successful, and become transformative role models in society. Our staff will be provided with professional learning opportunities that are effective, relevant, and transformative to the point of closing the achievement and opportunity gaps, and continue advancement towards the elimination of the predictability of outcomes.
Our staff is committed to providing a World Class educational opportunity for all children by addressing the needs of each individual child and providing the foundation and support for them to reach the upper end of their potential. We will rely on having a strong academic focus as well as ample opportunities for students to develop socially, and enhance their leadership skills. Our staff is strongly committed to making data driven decisions and evaluating those decisions, high leverage practices, and initiatives using an equity lens."
Paula DePass-Dennis
Equity and Student Success TOSA, Reynolds School District
"I would love to see a change in the staff in our Oregon schools. The recruitment and retention of educators of color, is lacking for our students of color. Having 84% of the student body being of color and 92% of teachers being white is something that really needs to be looked at. If our students don't see themselves in these roles, how are they to think that they can become teachers?"
Yolanda Coleman
Talent Acquisition and Retention Administrator, Northwest Regional ESD
"My vision is to see Oregon students excel academically, socially and emotionally: while being taught and mentored by educators that feel supported, respected and appreciated. My wish is that every student has the opportunity to follow their bliss and become the people they desire to be and make contributions to our world in their own unique way."
