The goal of the English Language Learner Consortium is to ensure that English learners, including immigrant children and youth, attain English proficiency and develop high levels of academic achievement in English and all other academic subjects.

The consortium also assists teachers, including preschool teachers, principals and other school leaders in establishing, implementing and sustaining effective language education programs so that students are ready to attend classes in English.

In addition to supporting students and educators, the consortium also provides support for the families and other community members of the English learners.

The English Language Learner program is funded by a federal Title III grant.
