Join Us As We Celebrate Pride Month 🌈
Pride Month is celebrated in the United States from June 1-30. It is a time to celebrate people who are Two-Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, Pansexual, Genderfluid, and Nonbinary, as well as heterosexual and cisgender allies.

Congrats to our 2023-24 Retirees 🎉
This year's 13 retirees have contributed a total of 263 years of service to our organization. Whether they were here for 6 years or 32, each person listed here made a lasting impact on our organization. They collectively helped thousands of children and families over the years.

2025 Budget Update: Hope Wanes for an Emergency Legislative Fix to Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education Shortfall
During the 2024 legislative session, we fought hard for adequate EI/ECSE funding, but painfully Oregon is still $29 million short of the Oregon Department of Education’s recommended budget number.

Read a Message From Superintendent Goldman on EI/ECSE Budget Shortfall
This month, the Oregon Legislature adjourned, having allocated only a $22 million correction to the statewide EI/ECSE budget. We fought hard for adequate EI/ECSE funding, but painfully we are still $29 million short of the Oregon Department of Education’s recommended statewide budget number.

NWRESD Student’s Story is Among Those On a Celestial Time Capsule
Four-year-old Raiden Pham’s story has already traveled farther than most. His life story was included among just a few hundred others in a cargo ship that recently landed on the moon. Raiden has an ultra-rare genetic disorder called UBA5 that results in quadriplegic cerebral palsy.

Washington County Legislative Summit Highlights Key Educational and Legislative Priorities
School board members are busy and so are Oregon legislators. So every January, Northwest Regional ESD and the Oregon School Boards Association bring together school board members, student representatives, educators and lawmakers to discuss educational issues before the legislative session.

The 2023-24 Early Intervention and Early Childhood Special Education Procedural Safeguards, also known as the parents rights booklet, is an important document that outlines the rights of parents of children who are eligible or potentially eligible to receive services in special education.
