Northwest Regional Education Service District (NWRESD) shall provide home tutoring or home instruction services to students served by NWRESD if home tutoring or instruction is required by a student’s individualized education program (IEP), or individualized family service plan (IFSP), or if requested and/or contracted by a school district to provide home tutoring or instruction as an alternative education for a student whose educational status, health or impairment requires that student to be homebound. Home tutoring and instruction shall be in accordance with the IEP, IFSP or alternative instructional program designated by NWRESD.  

Homebound/Home tutoring or home instructional services will be provided to any NWRESD student, temporarily disabled or for other medical reasons, unable to attend the NWRESD program as substantiated by a physician’s statement. 

No employee of NWRESD shall provide home tutoring or instruction without a parent, sibling over 18 years of age or parent-authorized adult caregiver present during the time of home instruction or tutoring.  

Such services may be provided only upon prior approval of the superintendent or designee.
