We're hosting three opportunities this winter to help our community educate decisionmakers about the importance of special education programs for children under 5 and in the K-12 setting. These workshops are intended for families, students and children who receive special education services and our partners, including preschool providers, child care providers and school district staff we work with.
The third opportunity will be a Legislative Summit at the Oregon State Capitol on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
Participants will:
- Receive training, including:
- An introduction to lawmaking and state finance
- Tips on building relationships with lawmakers and telling your story
- Take a tour of the Capitol and visit lawmakers’ offices
The other two opportunities are:
- In-Person Legislative Advocacy Workshop - Wednesday, Jan. 29 (5:30 - 7 p.m.)
- Virtual Legislative Advocacy Workshop - Wednesday, Feb. 5 (5:30 - 7 p.m.)
