We're hosting three opportunities this winter to help our community educate decisionmakers about the importance of special education programs for children under 5 and in the K-12 setting. These workshops are intended for families, students and children who receive special education services and our partners, including preschool providers, child care providers and school district staff we work with.
The second opportunity will be a virtual legislative advocacy workshop on Wednesday, Feb. 5. This session will be recorded.
Participants will:
- Learn about lawmaking and state finance
- Get tips on building relationships with lawmakers and telling your story
The other two opportunities are:
- In-Person Legislative Advocacy Workshop - Wednesday, Jan. 29 (5:30 - 7 p.m.)
- Legislative Summit at the Capitol - Wednesday, Feb. 26 (10 a.m. - 2 p.m.)
Please RSVP to Kelsey Soltysiak (ksoltysiak@nwresd.k12.or.us) and indicate which event(s) you’re interested in attending and if you will need interpretation. We will provide child care and a meal at in-person events.
