Update: The event has moved from Tillamook to Hillsboro and will now be hosted at our Washington Service Center.
We're hosting a free computer science design challenge Nov. 7-9 for high school students who are interested in website design, coding, graphic design and/or game design. The competition is open to students in Clatsop, Columbia, Tillamook and Washington counties.
Students can enter as a team with up to five people or individually. After receiving applications, we will follow up with individuals and pair them with a team. We will also assign industry mentors to all teams.
Watch a video about the event and what students are saying.
About the Challenge
Challenges will be released during the virtual launch on Thursday, Nov. 7. Teams will choose a challenge to solve using a tech-based solution (an app, website, video game or marketing campaign) and will then have until 12 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9 to work together to code and create.
After the competition ends on Nov. 9, students will have a chance to present their final product to a panel of local tech professionals. The panel will score projects and provide feedback. Winning teams will receive prizes.
