Our Northwest Regional Education Service District Early Literacy Supports Team presents a learning opportunity for individuals and school teams on the Science of Reading, the Science of Teaching, and Data-Based Decision Making. This is the last event of a four-part series of professional development offered in the 2023-2024 school year that will focus on Pre-K through grade 5 literacy systems. We will continue building knowledge around the Science of Reading and Scarborough's Rope, specifically regarding Language Structures, Verbal Reasoning, and Literacy Knowledge. Practical applications will include further strategies for active engagement and explicit instruction. Time will also be spent on school's spring benchmark data.
There will be differentiated options for learners based on the needs of participants, as well as opportunities to review goals from this school year, and start planning for next school year.
The intended audience for this series of trainings includes all instructors in Pre-K through 5th grade settings, literacy coaches and specialists, school instructional leadership team members, and school administrators. Participants need not attend all four parts of the series. Please attend as many as you are able.
We strive to make our events accessible and inclusive to participants from all backgrounds and abilities. If you think you will need additional accommodations, such as an interpreter, please contact Laurel Fischer (LFischer@nwresd.k12.or.us).
