Four Reasons You Will Thrive With Us

  1. We care about your sense of belonging. We believe deeply that educators from diverse backgrounds—including cultural, racial, gender expression, ability, career paths, and more—should thrive with us. If you can show up as your authentic self at work, you will be a better educator. Furthermore, our region’s diverse student community is depending on representation. We are proudly at the helm of multiple initiatives to diversify our educator workforce.
  2. We care about your growth. We care about your personal and professional growth as it relates to your career goals, your students’ success and your position as an antiracist educator. We provide $500 annually in professional development funds for all licensed staff. We provide in-house equity professional development and launched additional equity professional development opportunities (training for new employees, equity learning teams based at each of our school sites).
  3. We care about balance. We offer generous leave packages to help you navigate personal illness, family obligations, emergencies and to enjoy life.
  4. We are deeply connected. Our educator teams, including speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and school psychologists, serve 20 school districts—large and small, rural and suburban—across four counties. Collectively, the team’s experience is varied and complementary. Working on a team of this size means frequent collaboration, support, and problem-solving with like-minded professionals. Northwest Regional ESD is also a convener and facilitator for a vast range of complementary partner initiatives that will add value to your role, including various special education programs, various educator professional learning networks, migrant education, the Northwest Early Learning Hub, the Northwest STEM hub and more.

Land Acknowledgement

Every community owes its existence to those who took part in making the history that led us to where we are today. Some were brought to this region against their will, some were drawn to leave distant homes in pursuit of a better life, and some have lived here for countless generations. We acknowledge that our service area overlays the traditional lands of the Atfalati, Nekelim, Siletz and Tillamook peoples. In our daily work in service to this region, we aspire to honor with gratitude the land itself and the people who have stewarded it throughout the generations.
